Sustainable Global Development Conference 2009

The Sustainable Global Development conference will be held in the University of Limerick on 16th and 17th October, 2009.

The conference will include papers, symposia, workshops, and audio-visual presentations on aspects of Sustainable Global Development from Africa, Latin America, Asia, and from Europe.

Speakers will include:

Roger Riddell, author of Does Foreign Aid Really Work? (Oxford University Press, 2007),

Ana Valadez, indigenous rights and biodiversity campaigner and activist.

image3521Irish Aid is the Government of Ireland’s official programme of assistance to developing countries. As part of its commitment to promote development education in universities and other third-level institutions inIreland and to facilitate contacts and networking between both third-level development education practitioners and academics working in the field of international development, Irish Aid sponsors this conference, in partnership with the University of Limerick, who are hosting the event.

The University of Limerick is also host to the Irish Regional Centre of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development (RCE-Ireland).
